age: twenty one
membergroup: resident
face claim: zac efron
history/personality: Being the middle child in a family of three boys meant that Seth often felt neglected. His older brother was always the first to be allowed to do something and his younger brother was always the center of attention for his parents. Although some of what Seth felt had been “overly imagined” the majority was real and he often found himself alone. When they were younger Seth often excluded himself from family activities when he could and if his mother (it was usually his mother, Seth’s father felt his sons needed to learn how to care for themselves) forced him to go, he still somehow managed to separate himself. It wasn’t easy for him to get along with his brothers. When it was only him and his older brother, things had been easier, but now that the family had three, it was hard for Seth to connect with them. That didn’t mean he was completely friendless. Family affairs aside Seth loved photography, and spent a good deal of time outside asking strangers to pose for him. Most of time they agreed, provided Seth had to wink a few times and give a charming smile or two.
When Seth was fourteen, his parents spoke about adopting a child, a girl since fate had refused to give them one. Within months, Hannah had joined the family, a sweet naïve girl whom Seth immediately saw as excellent prey for the twisted people of Miami and felt the immediate need to look after. It wasn’t just him. The entire family seemed to hover around Hannah for the first year. It wasn’t until after the first year and a half though, when Seth began to see his sister becoming too much of a socialist (like his mother). As someone who felt the need to look out for his younger siblings (unfortunately his older brother was left to fend for himself in Seth’s world), he tried to warn her with subtle hints. Things didn’t work out and took a turn for the worse when their mother was killed in a car crash, which also seemed to have scarred Hannah who began to heavily invest in her social life. Seth stopped talking to her much after that because he felt it was too late and moved on to spending most of his time with his younger brother Shane.

ometimes Nate wondered why he couldn’t just sit down with a cookbook and learn how to make meals. The food the cafeteria served was not only lacking in vitamins but It looked like it had been ground up in a blender and then molded to resemble familiar looking shapes. Sadly the seventeen year old still found himself gagging down the food day after day, wondering what exactly he was eating the entire time. Today’s dish was a repeat of one they had a couple days ago, chicken balls and mashed...roots. Nate wasn’t planning on eating it, but he knew he would get lost in thought eventually and end up chocking the entire meal down. Sitting in a shaded area beneath a large coniferous pine that smelled strangely of honey didn’t help much either.S
As usual, he was having lunch alone again. He didn’t like eating in the actual cafeteria with the other students (and the smell of newly ground potatoes ‘Mmm mm). Pulling his coat closer together, Nate stared out past the fences that surrounded the school. The mountains were a nice place for scenery, even if it was a little cold. Too many times Nate found himself staring out thinking about leaving the place. This year would be his last, but he wasn’t ready to leave yet. There was no place to go, and he didn’t way to stay at school. Everyone else either seemed to have relatives or at least plans for when they graduated. As for him, the only people he knew was his parents and that Miss Applebottom with the loose dentures, and neither of them had seen Nate in years.
Suddenly finding himself eating the dry chicken balls, Nate looked away from the scenery and back down at his tray. The chicken made him feel like chocking and he had to loosen his tie. Ever since he left his parent’s place, he hadn’t stopped dressing formally in school and places like church. His mother had drilled that part into him too deeply. The clothes weren’t cheap though, but it did make him look snappy. Or at least he hoped.
Dropping the half eaten ball back with the other 6 untouched ones; Nate buried his hands in his hair and stared at the ground. It was his last year for goodness sakes, and he still hadn’t managed to throw that reputation as the “quiet boring guy”. Why else had he even come here? If he couldn’t make connections now, then what the heck was he going to do when he left and had nobody to fall back on? Jeeze life was hard.
